The Public Library of Brookline’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence, Liz Nofziger, began her research for her project titled Library Study by observing current uses of the Library’s space and delving into its recorded history. She is equally curious about the unwritten stories you may have that could inspire or inform her interventions in the 3 Brookline Library locations over the course of her artist residency.
The first piece in the Library Study project is Ruby Carrel. With this installation, Nofziger invites you to reconsider your relationship to this library or those in your memory, and deposit your stories into the architecture via a gap between the desk and wall.
